These are only my opinions of what you will need to get started |

Tips for those starting out |
|
First you will need a good Trainer airplane. There are too many out there to name but it is important to start With a trainer. There high wing loading allows them to fly and land at a much slower speed giving you time to React to what the plane is doing. Don’t try to learn to fly with an highly aerobatic aircraft !
Second is what radio to buy This really is up to your budget but I recommend a Computer radio there only about 50.00 dollars more than a Basic 4 channel and they give you many more options both now and later. I like the Futaba 7c, Hitec Eclipse or the Hitec Opti 6 all of them give you at least 6 model memory, ( you can setup 6 models and use the same transmitter on all of them) expo, dual rates, mixing and more. If you buy a basic radio you will need to buy a radio for each airplane you own and fly. It doesn't take long to make up the extra cost of a computer radio
Third is Engines, I’m going to assume that your setting up a 40 size trainer a good engine size would be a .46 I like O.S. engines and I would recommend the O.S46 AX there about 110.00 dollars or the Evolution 46 at about 90.00 dollars both are very reliable And very easy to get to run. But depending on your budget you may opt for a cheaper brand like Magnum or Super tiger both engines seam to have good power but are a little harder to get to run reliably but there cost is only about 70.00 dollars, you decide but remember if you have someone helping you, time in the air is much better than messing around with an engine on the table !
Fourth is startup gear you need a glow starter and fuel and either a chicken stick or a starter I of coarse prefer a starter but then you also need a 12 volt battery to power it
I hope this is helpful in making a few decisions on what to buy But remember these are just my opinions!
